Odor Removal

Odor Removal Service

There are many types of smells that can be present in your home or commercial property. Variety of things can cause a bad odor in a home or business to linger: pets, animal urine, cigarette smoke, hoarding, sewer backup, the aftermath of a fire, and the poignant odor of a decomposing body. Other odors can be caused by:

  • Cooking
  • Bacteria
  • Spoiled Food
  • Garbage
  • And more!

We recognize and understand that these odors are very offensive and difficult to remediate. One common scenario we come across involves people who have “tried everything” to get rid of a smell, but are still left with lingering scents that just don’t seem to go away.

Our technicians start by removing and/or cleaning the source of the odor and will select the best odor removal treatment and process that will produce the best results.

Lucky for you, our team at Green Oasis has experience removing odors and we use a range of advanced deodorization tools to eliminate odors including:

Thermal Fog

Use of thermal fogs neutralizes odor, using a strong deodorizer that penetrates everywhere the smoke traveled.

Ozone

This oxidizing agent is produced by a portable ozone generator.

Air Scrubbers

Using high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters, they remove odorous particles from the air, enhancing the efficiency of cleaning and clearing the air for safe breathing.

Thermal Fogging

Thermal Fogging uses a special solvent-based deodorizer that is heated and applied as a dry fog/smoke. They rely on a deodorizing solution that is vaporized in the fogger then blown into the room permeating all of the contents and structural elements. The vaporized cleaning solution/smoke it creates, will actually pair with the unwanted odor molecules to absorb them and rid the premise of the smell. This process is quite effective when combined with necessary cleaning and  makes it much more effective when dealing with strong odors in the home as it delivers very small smoke particles deep into all areas of the home. Anywhere smoke can reach, our deodorizer can help with eliminating odors, which is almost everywhere. Walls, carpet, tiny cracks and crevices or the pores of most surfaces.

It’s also easier to use and is safer on most surfaces than water based deodorizers, most commonly used when limited to cleaning of the carpet only. That is far more effective against nearly all odors. The fog will leave a pleasant odor behind to neutralize any unwanted smells such as pet odor or dog dander, as well as tobacco, smoke and marijuana, stale air, mold, mildew, pets, burnt food, fireplace and any other lingering odor without the use of harsh  chemicals. So it makes it ideal for your home, business and vehicles.

Why Thermal Fogging For Odor Removal?

Using thermal fogging for odor removal is the preferred method because it not only gets into the carpet but penetrates the entire home, penetrates the walls and most other areas of the home where the vast majority of the dog dander odor, tobacco odor, smoke odor and other unwanted odors will subside. Fogging is an excellent deodorization method for many types of odors in the home. Using our thermal fogging application will most certainly help with the overall smell in the home. Though there are many other variables that need to be addressed in extreme situations, thermal fogging can certainly be the step that is missing in the completion of strong odor removal.

Before Thermal Fogging of Your Home

Follow these steps to prepare for thermal fogging of your home. Ideally your home is empty, though we understand this is not always possible or a common scenario. Here are some directions for what to do before we come and use our thermal fogger in your home.

  • Make sure that all individuals and pets have left the area.
  • You many want to notify the local fire department about your intentions.
  • As we have seen neighbors call the fire department when they see “smoke” escaping outside from the thermal fog deodorization.
  • Cover or disable smoke detectors.
  • Shut off all open flames, including pilot lights.
  • Cover furniture and other high valuables with sheets or plastic.
  • Close all exterior windows and doors.
  • Cover fish tanks and food containers.
  • Open all cabinets, closets and drawers in the affected area.

If the home is empty then not all the above will apply. Thermal fogging can leave behind some residual that needs to be wiped down in the coming days. This is natural, and we do what we can during the application process to apply properly for the least amount of left behind residual.

Ozone Treatment

Ozone treatment can be used on its own or in combination with other treatments depending on the situation. It removes odor by destroying the molecules, bacteria, and spores that cause unpleasant odor. Ozone (O3) is a highly reactive molecule and is very quick to chemically react with particles that it comes into contact with in the air and on surfaces. It is effective highly in these situations. As a gas, ozone chemically breaks down the odor-causing molecules wherever air flows, effectively “cleaning” the odor causing bacteria in the air, walls, ceilings, ductwork, carpet fibers, gaps between floorboards, cracks in walls, and more. Ozone is able to penetrate these areas and destroy the odors. Upon completion of the treatment, we air out the home and replenish it with oxygen and the bacteria’s causing the odor in most cases is eliminated.
